FAQ - Using the Morse Code Translator
- Q. How do I use the Morse code translator?
- Type letters, numbers, or supported punctuation into the text box and it is translated to Morse code in real time. Enter Morse code (· and -) instead and it is translated back to text. You can play the result as audio.
- Q. How are spaces shown in Morse code?
- Characters are separated by a slash (/) and words by a double slash (//). When actually sent, characters are separated by a silent gap of three units and words by seven units.
- Q. Which characters are supported?
- The international Morse code standard covers the Latin alphabet (A-Z), numbers (0-9), and a set of punctuation marks. Accented letters and non-Latin scripts need to be transliterated to A-Z first.
